What an absolutely positive week! My email inbox is absolutely bloated with positivity! Thanks to all of you who have responded to the Absolutely Positive contest so far. There’s still time to enter before the drawing on Wednesday. Details HERE. You should ABSOLUTELY check it out.
Ok. Let’s face it. Some days just suck. Sometimes things happen in life that derail even the most forward-thinking people. Whether it’s a momentary flash of the red hot and blues or a life-changing bummer, the trick is to have mechanisms in place that will help you turn things around- hopefully in a big old hurry. There are hundreds of things you can do when it feels like only an IV drip of rainbows and kittens and puppies and unicorns will help. You can meditate, you can do affirmations, you can exercise- they all help and they all work.
The number one thing I turn to when the chips are so down I can’t even find them is connection with others. Sometimes I just need to talk it out. When it’s time to focus on non-sucky things, I’m lucky to have a fistful of folks that I am absolutely positive will help me do that. So in keeping with the show theme this week, I’d like to introduce you to one of those folks. Her name is Leah Carey and I’m grateful she’s my friend.
Leah writes a blog called The Miracle Journal where she documents the everyday occurrences that remind her of how blessed she is. I’d say that’s an absolutely positive way to live. Because I like this idea so much, I’ve invited Leah to join me on Out From the Inside this Wednesday.
There is also a second and equally awesome reason I’ve invited Leah to join me on the show. A couple of months ago, her daily blog entry was called “The Miracle of Fluidity”. The post was a candid and revealing glimpse into her journey of self-discovery and how she overcame the internal struggle and shame she felt about being bisexual.
So it’s two-for one Wednesday! Leah and I will be talking about the B in LGBT, AND being positive. YAY! I hope you can join us!
I’ll also be featuring some of the contest entries and talking to some of YOU! More on that tomorrow night!
